this borrowed breath, this fleeting stay?

O heart… think deeply, do not sleep,

before the grave becomes your home.

Where were you before you came to earth?

A drop unseen, unknown, unknown.

Where are you now in this brief journey,

and where will your soul be thrown?

To dust again, or mercy’s light—

to gardens vast, or burning night?

Only deeds will walk beside you,

when all your worldly ties take flight.

O soul… return to truth today,

before your book is finally read.

For every breath is being counted,

every word you ever said.

Think—think with fear and hope together,

before the final truth is shown.

আমরা কি শুধু শেষের দিকেই চলেছি?

এই ক্ষণস্থায়ী পথের সত্য কী তবে?

ধন-খ্যাতি যা জমাই আমরা অহংকারে,

তা কি কাজে আসবে পরকালে কভু তবে?

কোথায় ছিলাম আমি এই পৃথিবীর আগে?

অদৃশ্য এক বিন্দু, অজানা সাগরে।

আজ কোথায় এসে দাঁড়িয়েছি আমি—

হে আত্মা! জেগে ওঠো সত্যের ডাকে,

নিদ্রা ভাঙো অহংকারের ঘোর থেকে।

প্রতি নিঃশ্বাস গোনা হচ্ছে তোমার,

প্রতি কথা লেখা হচ্ছে অদৃশ্য রেখায়।

তাই ভাবো গভীর, সত্যকে খোঁজো,

শেষ সময় আসার আগে আজই জাগো।

দুনিয়ার নয়, রবের পথে চলো—

চিরস্থায়ী শান্তির ঠিকানায় ভাগো।
